New Google Profile?

Some light of the current Google vs China situation…I thought it is quite funny ;)

On a Personal Note:

The sporadic power-outs that Cape Town has been facing is really getting on my nerves. I am sure you can appreciate that being an individual that is dependant on connectivity to work, this is outrageous and productivity is at an all time low. Our international clients must think they are dealing with companies from the darkages!

Joey and I had our first aniversary yesterday. It was the first of many joyous years and celebrations ahead! My gift to him for our aniversary was a real boy’s day out with the professional crew of 4Rings.co.za for a full day High Performance Driving Course taking place at Killarney Race Track today.

Google in the news

Posted in General at 3:21 pm by Christine

Quick post:

On the Google Search Records: Google has formally rejected a demand from the US government to hand over a week’s worth of search records.

Following on an article I wrote recently, I read a really good article on the Google China result filtering on SiteProNews.

PS: I saw that MSN had updated their index search page last week – slick and clean – just like Google ;)

On a personal note:

It was Valentine’s day last week – and Joey and I shared our first Valentine’s together – it was very romantic. He took me out for a surprise, very nice 4 course dins at a recently opened restaurant here in Cape Town by the name of Capella. One of our friends is a chef there and well, obviously recommended the food! ;)

Other than that we still have not finalised our wedding venue, which we are hoping to do by the end of this month / early next – if we get some spare time from our responsibilities and commitments.

Update on Google Chat Logs

Posted in General at 11:33 am by Christine

Google have now updated their Gmail with the Chat logs and integrated with Gtalk as mentioned in previous post. When you log into your account you are met with a window giving you the option to save your chat history in Gmail and your contact list is now also displayed on your left menu in Gmail.

I like seeing my Gtalk contact list from my Gmail interface, I like having the option of adding any email as a contact, but those little floating windows interfere with my user experience.

..A little floating window appears each time you hover over a new email, and then again once you are reading your mail if you hover over the email address of the sender. They show you the “profile” of the sender so to speak with contact details, option to send mail, option to chat and even contact details..

Great idea, but needs some fine tuning as regards user experience - these are outright annoying.
How have you found it?
