The Big Switch

Apart from us South African’s having yet another long weekend (of which April is full), this weekend was quite interesting in the land of Search as well. One of the biggest stories being that Amazon made a move from Google to Microsoft. Apparently they have also shifted their Alexa search engine results to the same platform.

Some rumours that are flying around say that it could have stemmed from Google’s Book project and also Google Base, and the fear that Google could one day take on Amazon’s huge storefront…

On a Personal Note:

We had our first (the first of hopefully many) - Unite Against Hunger (UAH) Plate Campaign’s at Rafikis on Sunday where we hosted a lunch to contribute towards this very admirable campaign. Between all of us who attended (twelve in total) we managed to donate R500 to the cause, which for our first one is a good start, especially since it was also on a long weekend and most people were away. Joey posted some pics of the event over on his blog.

Well I can finally let the cat out of the bag (or should that be spider? ;) ) and fill you all in on my news. I have been inundated by SEM service enquiries which I unfortunately had to turn away due to having my hands full at the company where I currently work. However, the wind of change has blown. (And no, that is not a pun on the ghastly South Easter that’s been torturing Capetonians the last few days!)

I am very excited to tell you that I am finally stepping up the plate and taking on the challenge that I’ve been wanting to do for a couple of years now, which is to open up my own Search Engine Marketing shop!

Keep watching this space as I transform this Blog to the next level as soon it will feature all my service offerings…So draft your enquiries so long! ;)
