One Small Step for a GUI
MSN finally invited me to try their Windows Live Mail Beta…Yay! This interface is so much more user-friendly than the old Hotmail version. I think they finally realised that to use a familiar interface, hence the similar feel to Outlook, will get you everywhere ; ) Bravo.
The importance of providing a user-friendly interface for your online endeavours is of vital importance. An easy to navigate and intuitive user-interface can make or break a site or online CMS product.
When creating a website, email campaign or even online CMS, designers, developers and architects should ensure that they include a usability expert in their process. The upfront costs will definitely save time (and money) in the long run as a user-friendly GUI ensures that their customers return, perhaps even convert and may even make their product more “sellableâ€.
On a Personal Note
Watched UltraViolet the other day. I was really looking forward to this movie starring Milla Jovovich. The trailer was really good, but sadly I found the movie lacking.
I’m flying up for an online marketing conference in Joburg tomorrow. The line up looks pretty good and I know most of the speakers from previously having worked with them! Hopefully my dinner on Wednesday night will be interesting. ; ) Will tell you all about it later this week.
