For most of us, the first working week of 2010 is over, and it wasn’t that bad, was it? ;) On behalf of the AlterSage team, welcome back! We hope you are well rested, and wish you all the best for the year ahead.

On his blog, Erik Hersman (Whiteafrican.com) discusses the Internet and the mobile report for Africa, which was recently released by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). This report looks at the usage, penetration and growth rates of mobile phone usage and the Internet, and examines how the Internet is accessed by Africans. eMarketer.com predicts a number of online trends for 2010, including the growth of social search (and consequently, the increased relevance of search results), the growth of mobile commerce, and the expansion of social ad networks. Google Analytics adds new features
During the holidays, Google Analytics introduced additional features to its Analytics software, including annotations to promote teamwork amongst all those working on a website and enhancements to the current segmentation capabilities of Google Analytics.
